My water is kinda nasty though, so I’m certain I shorten its life alittle. Given no options, I’ll keep reordering these. I believe every one of these has the same item numbers. I recommend that you purchase a 3-pack. It arrived rapidly and is at perfect condition. When the filtered water goes above two inches the filter slows down a great deal – like it takes hours to filter the last 1/4 inch of water. I do have the right filters and they seem to function fine in my reverse osmosis water system. It is predictable, dependable and we have saved a lot of money and bottles. The packaging, look and feel is totally different from what we get in Target or Walmart, by the way I love the water coolers for sale they have there. Something is wrong with production (in Mexico) or design. This really is to help water flow through the filter and doesn’t affect contaminant reduction of your Pur filter. I’m not sure if this is the case on the normal, new product. That is unfortunate these filters don’t remove flouride because flouride is poisonous. I now give it five stars particularly since someone gave me a brita and the pur taste so much better. I really wish they would bring bad the original monitor.
